About Me

Hi! I’m Bob. By day, I travel the country as a traveling salesperson, and I’m lucky to say I love what I do. When I do get time at home (or at our mountain yurt retreat), I love to cook for my beautiful wife, Rene’ and our family and friends. We enjoy a wide variety of food, and wanted to start this page to share our favorite recipes and tips with you.

I believe there is a time for an easy 15 minute recipe and a time for a major half day “knock your socks off” type of meal. I’ll do my best to share the full spectrum.

I do a lot of my cooking at our mountain yurt. It is off the grid, so I find ways to make our favorites without the benefit of an oven or electricity for that matter.

We also enjoy pairing wine with the recipes we cook. I am working on my sommelier certification, and will share tips on wine pairing with the main entrees I feature.

Our passions include travel and enjoying the great outdoors. I’ll share some of our travel stories and tips for locations as we go. I hope you enjoy this blog!.

What I do

Food

Eat to live? Not us… we live to eat. Increasing our culinary repertoire is a passion for both of us. We look forward to sharing our favorites with you, as well as tips we have picked up along the way!

Wine

We both enjoy a great glass of wine paired with our meals. This has become a passion for Bob, and he is working on obtaining certification as a sommelier. We have hosted multiple wine pairing dinners and love to introduce others to wine through tasting trips to California, Oregon and Washington wine regions.

Travel

We love to experience the world. We enjoy living in Idaho and experiencing all it has to offer, but we look forward to opportunities to expand our horizons. Some of our favorites include a cooking class in Rome and the cooking class pictured above in Cabo Pulmo, digging cockles in New Zealand, bar hopping in Cozumel, hiking the Alps of Switzerland and a catamaran trip through the British Virgin Islands.
