Cocktail Sauce

We really like a flavorful and spicy cocktail sauce with shrimp, fish, finger steaks (it’s an Idaho thing…) etc. We are never completely satisfied with any that we have found at the store, so this is our go to sauce!

Super Easy Cocktail Sauce

Rene’ is a Heinz ketchup girl. We have tried the others and she keeps coming back to Heinz. Use whichever type you like!

The Beaver Extra Hot Horseradish is really the key to this sauce. It really carries a lot of horseradish heat! If you can’t find it, experiment with how much of the horseradish that you can find it takes to make the heat right for you.

It’s important to really dice the onion fine. Since this is really a dipping sauce, the pieces have to be small enough to stay with the sauce. It’s important that they stick on your shrimp or finger steaks. Big chunks will actually just stay in the sauce bowl and you miss that part of the sauce.

Just mix all the ingredients together and let them sit for a bit and you’re ready to eat! Change up the amounts of each item to fine tune it to your taste buds… this is the perfect kick for us!

We use 1/2 cup Heinz Ketchup, a heaping 1/8 cup of diced yellow onion, 2 tablespoons of extra hot horseradish, the juice from a 1/4 of a lemon and 2 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce.

Let it sit for just a bit, and it’s ready to go!
