Amazing Homemade Caesar Salad with just a bit of a kick. This salad is much better than the packaged Caesar Salads, and way more affordable as well! We add some Sriracha to give it a kick, but you control how much goes in. The Anchovy Paste gives the true Caesar taste, and again, you can add as much or as little as your taste buds say is right. Make this salad to be exactly what you’re looking for!
The Ingredients
Anchovy Paste is the secret to a great Caesar flavor. We typically find it in the store by the tuna fish.
It comes in a small tube and squeezes out like toothpaste. It is potent, so try different amounts to find exactly what you like best. We use a line about 2″ long.
The rest of the dressing ingredients are pretty normal, Olive Oil, Garlic, Lemon Juice, Dijon Mustard, Tabasco, Worcestershire Sauce, Salt, Pepper and Sriracha.
We use Romaine Lettuce, chopped into bite size pieces, shredded Parmesan Cheese and we like to break up our Garlic Bread Crackers as croutons.
Steps for Homemade Caesar Salad
First, mix up the ingredients for the dressing. 3 Tbsp Olive Oil, 2 cloves Minced Garlic, 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice, 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard, 1/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce, 4 drops Tabasco, 2″ Anchovy Paste, 1/4-1/2 tsp Sriracha and a dash of Pepper and pinch of Salt.
You can have a taste at this point to see if you want more spice from Sriracha or Tabasco or maybe need more Anchovy Paste. If the flavors got too strong, then lemon or oil can balance the dressing back out. Once you have the dressing dialed in, toss with the Lettuce. Make sure to coat the lettuce so the flavor is even throughout the salad.
Break up the Garlic Bread Crackers or add croutons of your choice and top with Parmesan Cheese.
Enjoy!
