Garlic Bread Crackers

Super easy and convenient. Make a bunch of the Garlic Bread Crackers and freeze them so you’re ready any time somebody stops by!

These Garlic Bread Crackers are Almost Too Easy

Just a couple of steps and you’ll have a great appetizer ready to go at any time.

We typically buy the double baguette package from Costco. One package can make several dozen crackers. Their baguettes seem to be more dense and stand up better to the thin slicing. They also have fewer air bubbles in them than other baguettes we have picked up, so the crackers are more solid with fewer holes.

Mix 1/3 cup of olive oil with 5-6 minced garlic cloves and let it sit so the garlic flavor infuses the olive oil. This can take half an hour, but an hour or two is even better.

Thin slice (about 1/4″ thick at the most) a baguette and place on a cookie sheet.

Mix up olive oil mixture so you get some pieces of garlic on your brush and brush the oil over the baguettes. You don’t need to coat them, there is lot of flavor, just brush some on each piece.

Bake in the oven at 300F for about 40 minutes until they brown and dry out.

Use them as soon as they come out or freeze them in a baggie and pull them out any time you need an appetizer. No need to thaw them, they are great straight out of the freezer!

We made this video if you want some more direction.

Use Your Imagination!

My picture shows some ideas… Boursin Cheese spread or just a slice of cheese. Shrimp with cocktail sauce, marinara sauce with pizza toppings (I put sausage, mushroom, jalapeno) and pesto sauce with chicken and parmesan cheese round out my plate. These are incredibly versatile and are really limited only by your imagination. We also really like to break them up and use them as croutons for our Homemade Caesar Salad!
