Honey Mustard Pork Chops

Our Honey Mustard Sauce adds a bit of sweet and spice to the pork to make these pork chops a family favorite! Super easy to make with a bit of basting while you grill.

Choosing the Right Pork Chop

There are lots of choices when you buy chops. I personally like chops with the bone still included, because it does tend to add flavor to the meat as you cook. Rene’, on the other hand, doesn’t like to have the bone in the chop (or chicken or any other meat for that matter!) so I do grab boneless chops when I’m cooking for her. A thicker chop tends to not dry out as you cook them, so I usually look for 1-1/4 to 1-1/2″ thick at a minimum.

Our Honey Mustard Sauce

Hopefully you already found the Honey Mustard Sauce, and this is just another use you’re looking into. It is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy for these pork chops as well as chicken. We’ve used it as a pizza sauce, a salad dressing, a dip for appetizers, etc. It’s just a great all around sauce! You can find the recipe here if this one is new to you!

How I Make Honey Mustard Pork Chops

I like to bring the pork to close to room temperature before I cook. I usually take them out of the fridge an hour or so before we’re ready to cook.

Start the grill and preheat to about 400-450F to get the initial sear the outside of the chop and leave the nice looking grill marks on the meat.

The honey mustard sauce is really quick to mix together.

Once the grill is ready, sear each side of the chop for a minute or two. Turn the grill to low heat for the rest of the time to get the pork to cook through without burning (the honey can burn quickly at higher heat!)

Baste the top side of the chop with the sauce, then cook for 5-6 minutes. I flip these at the 5-6 minute mark to make sure they cook through evenly, and it allows a chance to baste them with every flip. Don’t baste the raw meat before you do the initial sear to keep the sauce pure from contamination!

Brush Basting Honey Mustard Park Chops

Cook the chops until the pork has an internal temperature around 150-155F. These don’t keep cooking like a pork roast. I do let them get to this higher temperature and they still come out tender and juicy!

We did make a video as we cooked out chops, so take a look HERE for more instructions.

Serving Suggestions

We served our chops with corn on the cob and our Easy BBQ Potatoes (video here).

Several of our vegetable side dishes would work as well. Just take a look and see what you’re hungry for today!

Wine Time

A merlot or red blend will match the sweeter flavor from the marinade and still stand up to the meat and the spicy mustard flavor. Salute!
